Colour Rape: What an unfortunate title. You can see I was determined to use more colour. The real challenge in later years with combining colors on screen like this was the inconsistency of the VIC chip – correct me if I'm wrong, but the C128 output different hues than the C64 that would ruin a perfectly good colour combination. Actually, didn't early C64s have a different VIC chip than later models too? In any case, this was a screen made to order – the Nato boys were from my hometown and we hung out a few times.

Was I ever a member of the group? If I remember rightly, I was invited to join, and I kind of flirted with the idea of being in a demo group again. It seemed so much more attractive than working for a living, and I missed collaborating with Graham Hunter (who needs to get in touch with me if he reads this). But this would have been shortly before I was offered the chance to move down to London and work with Gary Liddon, which really was the more obvious choice, so no hard feelings guys.
