» May 16th, 2013 - Lords of Time updated
Popeye gives you an update of Lords of Time from Level 9 Computing. It was added to C64.COM some years ago, but it needed an update because it wasn't played through to the very end to make sure you download a 100 percent working copy. Game plot: During time-travelling through nine different time zones, you collect a plurality of items, which when thrown into a cauldron, can defeat the evil Lords of Time. It's a fun little adventure, so check it out »
» May 16th, 2013 - Interview with The Papillons coming up
We can now confirm that we will release an interview with the three main men Alpha, Zaz, and The Catman of The Papillons Inc. on July 27. At that day 25 years ago, TPI released their final production We Are the Champions in which they declared that they were quitting the cracking scene for good. It's been too quiet around them since then, and so after an investigation that would make Sherlock Holmes proud, we were able to track them down and are currently working on the questionnaire. There's some really cool reading coming your way! Stay tuned.
» May 5th, 2013 - Five new Censor Design demos added
It's been bloody ages since we uploaded new demos to C64.COM. To rectify this, here's the five latest demos from our buddies in Censor Design. Two demos were released last year, and three this year. "Daah, Those Acid Pills!" was released less than five hours ago, so that's some hot and new stuff for your Commodore right there! Enjoy these fine demos here »
» May 2nd, 2013 - Network Ten/2000 A.D. interviewed
Here's an interview with Network Ten/2000 A.D. (plus Danish Duo, The Danish Circle, The Goonies, Illusion 2016) who served as cracker and coder. NT goes: "I was obsessed with achieving the shortest crack. For ages, Triad ruled that discipline, until The Network Crew gave us (2000 A.D.) their Time Cruncher." Read the interview here »

» April 22nd, 2013 - Game Talk with prolific programmer Nick Jones
Having created such classics as Cybernoid I and II, Smash T.V., and Stormlord, Nick Jones' CV is definitely one to be proud of! In this interview (Andreas conducted it, Terry proofread it), Nick tells us about how he got started with the 6502 based Oric-1 computer and what it eventually lead to, about the hard work on his classic C64 games, and about working for Shiny Entertainment.
About the creation of Dan Dare 3: "This game called for 8-way scrolling at speed, but as I mentioned earlier, scrolling almost certainly meant you had to have the screen in character mode, which meant very few graphical tiles. I came up with an ingenious fix, though I say it myself, in which I basically had multiple character sets per level. In essence, I was multiplexing the character sets just like I was for the hardware sprites." Enjoy this great interview here »
» April 20th, 2013 - April 20th: Rob Hubbard Day
We're celebrating Rob Hubbard Day today! Join in by putting that scrolling belt of yours on, put on your Rob Hubbard mask, and dance to his amazing SIDs (then post your dancing pictures and videos on our Facebook wall). All hail the king of SID!

» April 15th, 2013 - Dr.J of The Force interviewed
Here's an interview with our friend Dr.J of Israelian scene group The Force. Alex goes: "On the emerging Israeli scene, the first groups to deal in C64 games in the 1980s were The Israeli Team (T.I.T.) and Tape Cracking Service (TCS). TCS mostly cracked games tape-to-tape because up until about 1987, almost no-one in Israel owned a 1541 drive." and "You did your best to make your group a success. For me, that meant disseminating The Force releases like wildfire! I also kept in regular contact with the Italian and Aussie divisions of The Force and traded with Danny on our 1440 bps modems (slow as a lame sloth)." In this interview, he tells us how he got the job at Melbourne House, how a typical day started with loading stuff they'd worked on the previous day from tape, and about his influences.
